Simpson University's New 45-Foot Moving Billboard Will be Hard to Miss
For Immediate Release
REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University will be sporting a new custom-wrapped motor coach athletics bus to transport its athletes.
At 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, Simpson University employees welcomed the new bus, complete with a bigger-than-life Red Hawks logo, on campus for the first time.
Sign-A-Rama, Redding's locally owned and operated business, partnered with the university to create the one-of-a-kind bus.
Jason Blake, director of sales and marketing at Sign-A-Rama, said, “We wanted to partner with Simpson University on this project due to the university’s significant and positive impact in our local community.”
The bus was fully wrapped in 3M vinyl and window film by Sign-A-Rama's certified installation technicians and was completed in three days. This was the first fully wrapped bus that the local company has done.
CrossPointe Community Church in Redding donated the bus to Simpson University in December 2008. After learning that the Simpson athletic teams were using an old bus that made transportation a challenge, Pastor George Nite offered the university a bus that his church was no longer using. The university received a second bus donated by Ron and Debbie Stickney of Redding and is raising funds to have it wrapped.
The bus will transport athletic teams to their nearly 100 games per year spanning from Mexico to Canada.
Celebrating 20 years in Redding, Simpson University is a Christian liberal arts university offering undergraduate, graduate, and teaching credential programs. Simpson's athletic department offers intercollegiate programs in women's volleyball and softball; men's and women's soccer, golf, basketball, and cross-country; and men's baseball.
