REDDING, Calif. – Simpson University and Ivy Bridge College of Tiffin University are proud to announce a new 2+2 partnership that will allow students in Redding, the Sacramento/North State region, and across the U.S. to obtain a bachelor's degree from Simpson University through a combination of online or evening classes.
The Simpson 2+2 program offers students the opportunity to take their lower-division and elective classes online with Ivy Bridge College before transferring to the university's ASPIRE program to complete their degree.
"Our curriculum plan calls for expansion of Simpson's academic programs into new sites, and via new delivery methods," said Simpson University Provost Dr. Stanley Clark. "The partnership with Ivy Bridge College is an important step forward with regard to both priorities. This partnership will enable us to serve an ever-widening circle of students in the on-line learning environment."
Simpson University has a long history of serving the community through innovative non-traditional programs and course offerings. The university started its popular ASPIRE degree-completion program in 1989, as a way to provide working adults who had some previously earned college credits with a convenient way to complete their bachelor's degree. Through the ASPIRE program's evening, Saturday, and online classes, Redding residents can join a close-knit community of students and earn their degree in as little as 16 months.
"The strategic alliance with Ivy Bridge College creates another avenue for students to complete their bachelor's degree through Simpson University's ASPIRE Program," said President Larry McKinney. "The online delivery provides access to education for students beyond the local region, extending the influence and brand of Simpson University."
The Simpson 2+2 program offers four majors that students complete through a combination of evening and online courses. The majors include a bachelor of arts in liberal studies, psychology, or business and human resources management. And in addition, for the first time, students in Redding and all over the U.S. can earn a B.A. in Organizational Leadership from Simpson entirely through online courses.
"We're thrilled to have Simpson University as a new partner," said Scott Lomas, Ivy Bridge College's Director of Higher Education. "Being able to offer students the opportunity to earn a bachelor's degree completely online is something we're really excited about."
