Simpson University Prepares for Winter Commencement

REDDING, Calif.—Simpson University will honor more than 125 graduates during two commencement ceremonies Saturday, Jan. 20, inside the James M. Grant Student Life Center on campus, 2211 College View Drive.
At 10 a.m., students from the School of Adult Studies (ASPIRE degree-completion program) will be recognized during a ticketed ceremony. At 2 p.m., students in the traditional undergraduate program will graduate, along with those earning master’s degrees from the School of Education, School of Graduate Professional Studies, Betty M. Dean School of Nursing, and A.W. Tozer Theological Seminary.
Adam McElvain, a Redding City Council member, U.S. military veteran and Simpson University alumnus, will be the featured speaker.
Simpson University traditionally holds commencement twice a year—an indoor ceremony in January for summer and fall graduates, and an outdoor event in late April for spring graduates.
Founded in 1921, Simpson University has been in Redding for nearly 30 years. Its newest programs include four-year bachelor's degrees in political science and nursing, minors in Spanish for Nurses and Spanish for Educators, and an online master of arts in organizational leadership.
More than 3,800 North State residents have completed their bachelor’s degrees through Simpson’s ASPIRE program, which offers classes online and on campus during evenings and weekends in business administration, organizational leadership, psychology, and liberal studies.
