Simpson Holds Candlelight Vigil For David Yang
REDDING, Calif. – Friends and family of David Yang came together at Simpson University Wednesday night, to remember his life.
They held a candle light vigil at 7pm in the center of the campus. Those who knew Yang shared their stories and memories. Candles were lit and songs of remembrance were heard across the college.
David Yang's brother-in-law Johann Her said, "It means a lot and I know David loved Simpson. He always talked about it actually came here cause of David I know the university loved him means a lot to the family that they are here supporting and remembering David. His memories, him making peoples day, helping strangers, loved everyone the same, showed great love to everyone."
Yang is a 2010 graduate of Simpson University. He had moved to Butte County to work with the Hmong alliance church of Oroville. Yang was killed last Wednesday from a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
