A: ASPIRE Students are automatically registered for all Simpson courses after signing their registration schedules at Orientation. If a student has an owing balance for a previous semester, he/she will not be registered for the next semester until the account is settled.
A: If you have remaining units to complete, you will need to take classes at another institution while taking your ASPIRE courses. You can graduate only after you complete your outside 88 units and your 36 ASPIRE units.
A: YES! The ASPIRE Degree-Completion Program is designed specifically for working adults. The typical ASPIRE student balances school work with work and family responsibilities. Classes are held either in the evenings, one night each week, or on alternating Saturdays (your schedule depends on the major you choose). While you will work hard in the ASPIRE program, you can do it!
A: All evening classes are held from 6 - 10 p.m. The night of the week you will attend depends on your major and the semester you started. In most cases, you will stay on the same night of the week throughout the 12 courses in the ASPIRE program (16 months). (Saturday classes are held on alternating Saturdays from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
A: ASPIRE students take one class at a time for five weeks. This allows students to focus on one subject, rather than trying to study three different topics simultaneously. Three five-week courses make up one semester.
A: You can start the ASPIRE program at any of our three semesters: fall (September), spring (January), or summer (May). You should plan to complete the application process at least one month before your desired start date in order to have your acceptance and financial aid finalized before orientation!
A: Call 1-888-9-SIMPSON and speak to an admissions counselor. You can complete the application on the Simpson University website. Most students will need to submit an application and application fee, professional reference, purpose statement, and official transcripts from all schools you have attended (transcripts must be received sealed from the school of attendance). Some majors (i.e., Nursing) may have additional requirements. Call your counselor today!
A: For students starting the ASPIRE program during the 2011-2012 academic year (fall 11, spring 12, summer 12), the total tuition cost for all four semesters is $16,560 ($4,140 per semester).
A: The ASPIRE program is designed to be completed in 16 months (four consecutive 15-week semesters). Classes continue through the summer.
A: Books are usually available for sale in the campus bookstore one week before the start of the next course. The bookstore labels books by the course and cohort. Textbooks will also be listed on the syllabus for each course.
