Simpson University Unveils New Logo
For Immediate Release
The new logo features a classic academic crest with “SU” in ligature letter form. The crest represents the university’s strong academic programs. At the top of the crest is a mountain with three points representing Simpson University’s three locations over its 89 year history, Seattle (1921-1955), San Francisco (1955–1989), and Redding (1989 forward). The mountain is indicative of its present location in proximity to Mt. Shasta.
The logo was designed by the Simpson University marketing staff from feedback incorporating the broader Simpson community.
The new Simpson University tag line reads, “Challenge your mind...Change your world...” which balances the pursuit of academic excellence to the university’s long standing commitment to world service.
The logo is part of an effort to strengthen the university’s brand by providing a consistent visual message.
Along with a new logo, Simpson University recently updated its mission statement which reads, “As a Christ-centered learning community, Simpson University develops students in mind, faith, and character to influence the world through leadership, scholarship, and service.
President of Simpson University, Dr. Larry McKinney, said, “We set out to create a new logo that was attractive, memorable and easily recognized by a wide audience. This new logo reflects our university well as we pursue our mission over the next 20 years.”
Simpson University invites the public to participate in its Family Fun Day celebrating 20-years in Redding. The free event will take place on the Simpson campus October 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
