For Immediate Release
10.13.2011
REDDING, Calif. - In time for the holiday shopping season, Simpson University announces its 5th annual Craft & Fair Trade Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 19. The free community event will take place in Simpson’s Heritage Student Life Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The craft fair will provide an outlet for area artisans and crafters to sell their items and will also include Fair Trade items available to purchase.
Local crafters will feature handmade cards, crocheted scarves, jewelry and other items. Fairly traded items from around the world will include coffee, home décor and handbags.
Fair Trade guarantees producers and artisans in poor countries fair payment for the purchase of their goods. Its goal is to foster local development and improve producers’ living conditions. Fair Trade contributes to sustainable development.
The craft fair will raise funds to support the student missions program and the Annual Student Scholarship Fund at Simpson University.
