Simpson University Hosts 5-on-5 Tournament

REDDING, Calif. – The Simpson University women's basketball team is hosting a 5-on-5 tournament today through Sunday inside the Heritage Student Life Center on campus to help raise money for their program. General admission is $3 (including for Simpson faculty and staff); children under 5 are free.

The action begins this afternoon at 4 p.m. with one of two Simpson teams playing against a team from Yuba College. Other teams include players from Shasta College, College of the Siskiyous, William Jessup University, and the Las Tucson Sol, a semi-pro team who play in the Women's Blue Chip Basketball League.

Games are also scheduled at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. today. Pool play continues 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, with a game starting each hour. Single elimination is Sunday, starting at 8 a.m. The championship game will be at 3.
