REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University is pleased to announce the return of speaker Ernest Wertheim, a 92-year-old German-Jewish storyteller and U.S. veteran who drew large crowds at two events in Redding earlier this year.
Wertheim, who escaped Nazi Germany and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he has developed a reputation as a renowned landscape architect and garden designer.
Tickets are on sale now for two events (proceeds go toward Simpson University student scholarships):
“Creating the Wow Factor in Landscaping” – 7 p.m. Oct. 19, Collord-Humphries Room, Emeriti Dining Center, Simpson University.
Wertheim will speak and answer questions on the topic of landscape architecture. Tickets are $35 each and include hors d’oeuvres and dessert. Doors open at 6:30.

Steve Zlotowski, president of Temple Beth Israel in Redding, will serve as event moderator. There will also be a time for audience questions.
