REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University extends an invitation to all Shasta County residents interested in singing choral literature to join its community chorus.

The 2012-2013 academic year marks the Trinity Repertory Singers’ sixth season under the direction of Dr. Hoffmann Urquiza Pereira, music department chair and director of choral activities at Simpson University.

"The Trinity Repertory Singers provides a great opportunity for people in the community to share and develop their vocal and musical talents," said Dr. Urquiza Pereira. "Choirs are also unique environments where people can develop strong relationships through common artistic goals. These principles combined give Trinity the potential to become a very special organization in our area."

All voice parts are welcome to join the group in preparation for an April performance of Brahms’ “Requiem.”

Rehearsals are held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Simpson University campus, 2211 College View Drive in Redding. Interested singers should contact the Simpson University Music Department by calling (530) 226-4507 or emailing musicevents@simpsonu.edu.
