Simpson University to Host Story Time at Mt. Shasta Mall

REDDING, Calif. - In coordination with the Shasta Early Literacy Partnership, Simpson University staff and students will host a free story time for younger children each month at the Mt. Shasta Mall, beginning Jan. 7.

Story Time with Simpson University will take place from 10:30 to 11 a.m. the first Wednesday of each month, at the indoor play area near Sears in the mall at 900 Dana Drive.

Founded in 2009, the Shasta Early Literacy Partnership (SELP) is a collaboration of individuals, agencies and organizations dedicated to promoting the importance of daily reading with children. SELP’s “Take 10 and Do It Again” initiative seeks to encourage parents and caregivers to read to children 20 minutes each day.

Simpson University, established in 1921, is celebrating its 25th year in Redding. An accredited four-year university, Simpson offers 25 liberal arts and professional studies degrees, an adult degree-completion program, graduate studies and teaching credential programs, serving more than 1,300 students each year.
