Simpson University Women’s Soccer Signs Eight for 2014

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson University women’s soccer program announces the signing of eight student-athletes for the 2014 season: Lacey Reen (Medford, Ore.), Brook Gaddy (Redding), Janelle Gaddy (Redding), Baylee Wiechecki (Redding), Courtney Holsen (Chico), Rose English (Tulsa, Okla.), Marguerite Belanger (Shaver Lake), and Tayler Lennier (Tracy).

Reen is a forward who attended Cascade Christian High School. She was the co-captain of her soccer team.

Brook Gaddy is a forward who plans to major in psychology. Janelle Gaddy is a midfielder who plans to major in psychology.

Wiechecki is a defender who earned Defensive and Offensive MVP and all-league honors. She plans to major in biology.

Holsen is a defender and midfielder who plans to major in psychology. English is a forward and midfielder who plans to major in English.

Belanger is a defender who was one of the top three goal-scorers at Sierra High School. In 2009, she won the Alaska State Cup with her club team, Rush Club.

Lennier is a goalkeeper who plans to major in nursing.

"These new signings have really given our team new life,” said head women’s soccer coach Dan Anderson. “Each one of these players will come into the program and strengthen our squad. There is a lot of speed in this group of new players which is something that we were lacking last year. I am excited to get things going in August because with the talent that we have added to our existing players we are looking to win the Cal Pac Championship.”
