REDDING, Calif. - The Trinity Repertory Singers (TRS) of Simpson University invites community members to join its chorus as it begins its 2015-16 season.

In addition to Simpson University staff, faculty, students and alumni, TRS is open to community members interested in singing choral literature.

TRS is conducted by Dr. Cyril Myers Jr., Simpson University’s director of choral activities. Dr. Myers holds a doctorate in choral conducting and has extensive experience as a choral director, as well as being an alumnus of three professional ensembles.

TRS offers an opportunity for people to share and develop their vocal and musical talents in a welcoming environment. The group specializes in the performance of large-scale choral works, including compositions by Brahms, Mozart, Haydn, Handel, Elgar, and others.

Highlights of this season will include a fall concert celebrating the “Four Seasons,” a Christmas concert centering around a performance of J.S. Bach’s “Magnificat,” and a spring performance of the Easter section of Handel’s “Messiah.”

Rehearsals are held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays in room HC-1 of the Heritage Student Life Center on campus, 2211 College View Drive in Redding.

Auditions for voicing and placement will be held during the first rehearsal, scheduled for Aug. 27.
