Rebecca CarterREDDING, Calif. - A tribute service in memory of Rebecca Carter, who served Simpson University most recently as an instructor of psychology, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, in the Heritage Student Life Center on campus.

Alumni, former staff and faculty, students, and friends of the university are invited to attend.

Professor Carter died Dec. 21, 2014, after a short struggle with cancer. She was 38.

In her time at Simpson University, Professor Carter worked in the Wellness Center, served as the director of the Academic Success Center, and taught as a faculty member in the Psychology Department.

“As a community we want to honor Professor Carter for who she was as a person, for her unshakable love of Christ, and for the many ways she enriched our lives,” said Dr. Robin Dummer, interim president. “We grieve her loss, but Rebecca’s testimony, and that of her husband, Mark, has been one of hope that rests solidly in Christ.”

Memorial services were held at The Stirring in Redding and in Ohio.
