Simpson University to Offer Teacher Credential Program in Lassen County

A well-documented growing teacher shortage in California, especially as veteran teachers retire, prompted Simpson University educators to look for ways to help meet the need.
The School of Education’s teacher credentialing program, designed to prepare new K-12 teachers for Lassen County, is scheduled to start Jan. 9. The evening classes will be held at the Lassen County Office of Education.
The School of Education, which offers master’s degrees in education and teaching and a California Preliminary Administrative Services Credential, in addition to single- and multi-subject teaching credentials, at its Redding location, also offers teacher credentialing cohorts in Siskiyou and Modoc counties.
