Simpson University Athletics Director Named to National Board
For Immediate Release
REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University’s director of athletics, Tom Galbraith, has been appointed as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Athletics Director Association (ADA) board of directors. He will serve on the board as the representative from the California Pacific Conference.
The ADA serves all NAIA directors of athletics by playing a central role in developing conventions, championships, and conference administration. In April, the ADA announced a new partnership with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics to help create more opportunities for professional development.
As Simpson’s director of athletics, Galbraith oversees the university's intercollegiate teams, which include soccer, cross-country, wrestling, golf, basketball, volleyball, softball and baseball.
Before starting at Simpson last July, Gabraith served as the assistant director of athletics for communications at Radford University in Virginia and worked as an assistant commissioner with the Southwestern Athletic Conference at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I level.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and sports administration from Simpson College in Iowa and a master’s in education administration from North Dakota State University. He is pursuing a Ph.D. in higher education administration from the University of Virginia.
