Simpson University to Graduate Nearly 200 Students on Saturday

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University will honor nearly 200 graduates during two commencement ceremonies Saturday, Jan. 23, inside the Heritage Student Life Center on campus, 2211 College View Drive.

At 10 a.m., students from the School of Adult Studies (ASPIRE degree-completion program) will be recognized. At 2 p.m., students in the undergraduate program will graduate, along with those earning master’s degrees from the School of Education, School of Graduate Professional Studies, and A.W. Tozer Theological Seminary, as well as students in the RN-BSN Track program.

Margi Giovannetti, adjunct professor of business and adult studies, will be the featured speaker. She worked in the financial industry before earning her Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School in Chicago and practicing law. She has taught at Simpson University since 2002, specializing in business law and ethics.

Simpson University traditionally holds commencement twice a year—an indoor ceremony in January for summer and fall graduates, and an outdoor event in April for spring graduates.

Founded in 1921, Simpson University has been in Redding for more than 25 years. Its newest programs include four-year bachelor's degrees in political science, biotechnology, and nursing, and an online master of arts in organizational leadership.

More than 3,500 North State residents have completed their bachelor’s degrees through Simpson’s ASPIRE program, which offers classes online and on campus during evenings and weekends.
