"The first time I learned about the ASPIRE program was three years ago when Simpson faculty member Dr. Cynthia Strong spoke at a women's church event. Afterward, I had the opportunity to speak with her, and she shared about Simpson University and the Adult Studies program. During our conversation I felt the first fluttering of possibilities with continuing my education.
As an older adult learner, I had many questions. I decided, with the support of family and friends, to follow through and complete long-standing educational goals. I was looking for a university that provided its students with a God-centered educational experience and where I could learn what 'loving God with your mind' truly means. I found that at Simpson University.

I left my position in Medford, Ore., to follow an academic path. Relocating to Redding was a faith move.
Though my original plan was to enroll in the liberal studies program, the organizational leadership program was a better fit. I believe that God chose this path for me. It has changed my life in a multitude of ways, instilling a new confidence that I have utilized in a variety of life arenas.
As a musician and writer, I was afforded a new vantage in personal work and ministry. Learning valuable communication techniques has given me the opportunity to communicate with and view others through a broader lens.
The ASPIRE program has proved to be a 'gateway' for personal development. The instructors are skilled, encouraging and supportive, and my knowledge base and confidence have grown with each course.
My educational experience at Simpson will have lifelong benefits. There have been difficult times, but that is how one learns to persevere in faith. I am looking forward to continuing this academic journey and seeing where God chooses to lead me through it."
