Commencement Tickets and Inclement Weather Details
Tickets & Poor Weather Details for Commencement Weekend
Commencement Wristbands: Are They Necessary, and How Many Will Each Graduate Receive?
Currently, Commencement is scheduled to be held outdoors, and wristbands are not needed. In case of unfavorable weather, we will relocate to the James M. Grant Center (gym), where wristbands will be required for all guests. If we do move indoors, information about Commencement and wristband distribution will be sent to students via email on the Thursday morning before the weekend’s events. Due to venue limitations, each graduate will receive four wristbands.
When will graduates receive their wristbands?
Graduates will receive their four wristbands after the Baccalaureate ceremony. Please note that wristbands are not available at the door on Commencement Day, nor will any be held for guest pick-up.
Does a child or baby need a ticket?
Children who are under the age of two and can remain on an adult’s lap for the duration of the ceremony do not need a wristband. If a child occupies a seat of their own, they will need a wristband. All guests over the age of two will need their own wristband.
Can graduates get extra guest wristbands?
Due to the large number of graduates, there will not be any additional guest wristbands, nor will there be any available at the door. Graduates may want to check with their classmates to see if anyone has guest wristbands that they are not using and are willing to share with you.
Will seating/viewing be available for people without guest wristbands?
Yes, there will be overflow seating available in the Student Union and LaBaume-Rudat Building, Classroom 204 where guests without wristbands can view the ceremony via Live Stream.
If one of my guests is in a wheelchair, will a wristband be required?
Yes, since a wheelchair occupies the space of a chair, a wristband is required for an individual in a wheelchair and their accompanying guest and/or caregiver.
Are seats reserved?
No, all seats are general admission and on a first-come, first-served basis. The gym will open at 9 am.
Pets and Service Animals:
Guests are forbidden to bring pets onto campus, regardless of the length of visit. Exception to the animal policy may be made for service animals that assist a disabled individual.
