Program Goals
- Provide a Christian-based baccalaureate nursing education that equips students with the knowledge and skills needed for high-quality patient care, career growth, and future graduate study.
- Create and sustain a learning environment that supports and engages adult learners.

Program Learning Outcomes
Upon the completion of the BSN program, graduates will:
- Apply and synthesize knowledge from the physical and behavioral sciences, informatics, and the humanities to support safe, evidence-based clinical judgment in professional nursing practice.
- Operationalize personal faith and professional nursing practice while remaining respectful of others’ spiritual beliefs and protecting patient spiritual autonomy without bias or assumption.
- Develop, prioritize, and deliver competent, client-centered professional nursing care for individuals, families, and populations across the health continuum, emphasizing patient safety, quality outcomes, and scope-appropriate delegated care.
- Execute and evaluate health promotion and disease prevention plans that improve wellness and support patient and population self-management.
- Deliver culturally responsive healthcare and work effectively with others by applying cultural humility, inclusion behaviors, and bias-mitigating communication.
- Use critical thinking, translate evidence-based practice, and justify nursing decisions using current research findings to improve professional nursing interventions.
- Model ethical, advocacy-focused nursing practice by operationalizing professional roles, values, social justice principles, and human dignity in patient and interprofessional care.
- Form and operationalize interdisciplinary collaborative relationships that improve care coordination, patient outcomes, and the quality of healthcare for all.
- Demonstrate proficiency in therapeutic, professional, and digital clinical communication—including accurate, timely, compassionate documentation and SBAR delivery for care escalation and delegation.
- Engage in policy-informed systems improvement by participating in political and regulatory processes influencing healthcare systems and quality improvement priorities, consistent with state RN scope.

Pre-Licensure Nursing (BSN)
Simpson University offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing preparing entry-level professional nurses to effectively serve the health needs of the individual, community, society, and the world, integrating Christian caring into nursing practice.
Our pre-licensure baccalaureate program combines nursing and general education courses. Theory courses are accompanied by clinical experiences, enabling increasing learning while validating what is taught in the classroom. During the final semester, students in leadership clinicals are partnered with community healthcare leaders providing exposure to the rapidly changing healthcare environment. Students also complete a professional portfolio which showcases accomplishments and leads to increased employment opportunities.
Upon completion, students will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN state-licensing exam. Graduates are also eligible for the California Public Health Nurse (PHN) certificate upon passing NCLEX.
Transfer Nursing (BSN)
Simpson University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is designed to prepare transfer students to become entry-level professional nurses who serve individuals, communities, and the broader world while integrating Christian values and compassionate care into their practice.
Our pre-licensure BSN program blends nursing theory with hands-on clinical experiences. Transfer students may apply previous general education and prerequisite coursework toward degree completion. In our program, classroom learning is directly reinforced through clinical placements, providing real-world application and deeper understanding. During the final semester, students participate in leadership clinicals, working alongside healthcare professionals in the community and gaining insight into today’s dynamic healthcare environment. Students also complete a professional portfolio to highlight their experience and skills.
Upon completion, students will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN state-licensing exam. Graduates are also eligible for the California Public Health Nurse (PHN) certificate upon passing NCLEX.
Post-Licensure Nursing (RN-BSN Track)
Simpson University School of Nursing offers an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program (RN-BSN Track), which caters to working registered nurses (currently licensed in the U.S.) who want to develop professional skills.
The degree expands the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of professional nursing, providing a meaningful understanding of healthcare’s rapidly changing environment.

The baccalaureate (BSN) program at Simpson University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
