Internships, Career Development, and Calling

Internships, Career Development, and Calling

Helping you move from student to calling, with real-world experience, career coaching, and a Christ-centered approach to your future.

Internships, Career Development, and Calling helps Simpson students and alumni build strong career decision-making and professional skills rooted in a Christian worldview. We walk with students at every stage, from exploring majors and career paths, to preparing professionally, to gaining real-world experience through internships.

What We Offer

Internship Placement & Career Exploration

We connect students with real-world opportunities that align with their interests, skills, and calling. From finding local and national internships to exploring career paths, we guide you through every step—research, applications, interviews, and reflection—so you walk away with experiences that will benefit your future career.

Career Closet

First impressions count. The Career Closet provides access to professional clothing for interviews, presentations, and career events—free of charge. It’s a simple way to help you show up looking and feeling your best.

Resume & Cover Letter Guidance

The lack of a face-to-face interaction with employers can be daunting. Formatting, phrasing, personal flair, all play a critical role in getting noticed. We’ll help you craft application materials that capture the attention of your target employers. You’ll gain the skills to tailor your resume and cover letter for every opportunity that fits your goals.

Career Coaching

Our one-on-one coaching sessions empower you to evaluate your strengths, set goals, and create a customized plan for what’s next. Whether you’re exploring options or preparing to negotiate an offer in the workplace, we’ll help you navigate the process with confidence and clarity.

LinkedIn & Professional Branding

Your online presence tells your story. We’ll help you create a standout LinkedIn profile, write an authentic summary, and learn how to network decisively. Students can also get support with headshots and brand messaging that reflects their professional identity.

Career Workshops & Events

Throughout the year, we host workshops, networking sessions, and employer visits designed to help you sharpen your professional skills and make meaningful connections. You’ll learn firsthand from alumni and industry experts what employers value most.

Our Approach

We believe career is part of calling, not just a job. We help students connect their faith, strengths, and academic work with opportunities where their gifts can meet real needs in the world.

“The Career Development Office was a big help for me to reach the finish line and move into a professional career. From the beginning, they provided guidance that made the process feel manageable and purposeful. Their support with my resume helped me clearly show my strengths, experiences, and goals. They also took the time to walk me through interview preparation, offering practical advice and mock interviews that helped me feel more prepared going into interviews.”
