Biography
Josh is the Director of the PsyD Program at Simpson University, where he also serves as a faculty member dedicated to teaching, mentorship, and student engagement. A practicing, licensed psychotherapist and retired law enforcement officer, he brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and real-world experience to the classroom. As a clinician, he focuses on treating trauma and stress-related issues, with an emphasis on first responder trauma. He enjoys exploring and teaching the thoughtful integration of psychology and spirituality from a Christian perspective, encouraging a spiritually integrated approach to navigating life’s obstacles. In addition, he is active in the community, participating in legislative task forces and testifying before the California State Assembly and Senate. He is also a member of the Pi Gamma Mu and Psi Chi International Honor Societies. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children and volunteering in church activities.
