FAQs

Q. What majors are offered?

  • Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (with concentrations in Organizational Leadership and Small Business and Entrepreneurship)
  • Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies
  • Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
  • Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare

Q. How do I register for classes?

A. For many incoming Degree Completion students, they will need to meet with an academic advisor to create an academic plan and schedule classes. For subsequent semesters, the ADC office will automatically register students for major courses as long as they remain in their cohort. It might be necessary for some students to continue meeting with their academic advisor if they get out of sequence or still need additional general education or elective classes.

Q. If I start with less than 84 units, how do I complete the remaining units?

A. If you have remaining units to complete, you will need to take additional classes at Simpson University or another institution while taking your Degree Completion courses. You can graduate only after you complete your outside 84 units and your 36 Adult Degree Completion major units. Students can only begin their major courses after they have completed 60 total credit hours.

Q. Can I work full-time and still attend?

A. YES! The Degree Completion program is designed specifically for working adults. The typical Degree Completion student balances schoolwork with work and family responsibilities. In-person classes are held in the evenings one night each week. Online courses can be completed on your own schedule although there are discussion and assignment deadlines. While you will work hard while in the Degree Completion program, YOU CAN DO IT!

Q. When are classes held?

A. All in-person evening classes are held from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday nights.

Q. How many classes can I take at once?

A. Degree Completion students take two classes at a time for 7 weeks. There are two 7-week academic terms in a traditional semester, which means you will take a total of 4 Degree Completion courses each semester.

Q. When can I start the Degree Completion program?

A. You can start the Degree Completion program at any of our three semesters: fall (September), spring (January), or summer (May). You should plan to complete the application process at least one month before your desired start date in order to have your acceptance and financial aid finalized before orientation.

Q. How do I apply?

A. Click HERE to reach out to an admissions counselor. You can fill out the application by clicking HERE. Students will need to submit an application and have sent official transcripts from all schools you have attended (transcripts must be received sealed from the school of attendance).

Q. How much does it cost to attend Simpson University?

A. Click HERE to find the most current rates for tuition and fees. Be sure to choose the Degree Completion option.

Q. How long does it take to graduate?

A. The time to completion will vary depending on how many credits a student will bring into their program. If a student only has major courses to take, they can be finished in 12 months. However, most students need to take a few more courses to complete all their general education and elective credits. A total of 120 complete credits is required to graduate. Simpson University personnel will evaluate your transcripts to help you get a better idea of how long it will take to attain your degree.

Q. How do I get my books?

A. Course textbooks are available for purchase in our online bookstore. Click HERE to visit the bookstore!
