The Simpson University Counseling Center helps fulfill our institutional mission of developing each student in mind, faith, and character by providing therapeutic counseling services that are holistic and transformative; enabling greater student success in all aspects of their academic and personal life.

There are many issues that university students are, or will be, confronted with in time. Some of the issues that often arise are:

  • Adjustment to the demands of college life
  • Relational conflicts
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Childhood or family issues (i.e., abuse, trauma, or "dysfunction")
  • Disordered eating patterns and/or distorted body image
  • Important life-changing decision/event
  • Sexuality
  • Substance use/abuse
  • Other psychological, emotional, or spiritual struggles

Additional Services may include:

  • Crisis intervention
  • Group counseling
  • Referral to community resources for other services, including medication evaluations
  • Advocacy to faculty/staff as appropriate
  • Seminars, presentations, and/or educational resources on mental health, relationship, and wellness issues
  • Disciplinary assessments as requested
  • Student Behavior Assessment Team Advisory and Support
