Q. How am I going to pay for this?
A. In addition to Pell Grant and Cal Grant, students in the teacher credentialing program may qualify for the Golden State Teacher Grant (up to $20,000).
Q. How many credits do I need to take to obtain my California teaching credential if I already hold a bachelor’s degree?
A. There are 18 credits of core courses required prior to student teaching. Student teaching is a 15-week experience in either the fall or spring semester at two different grade levels. One-half of students-teaching can be at a non-public school in California.
Q. How long is the Master of Arts in Education program?
A. In addition to the 32 credit credential program, the M.A. in Education includes 22 credits of graduate coursework.
Q. Can I start any fall, spring, or summer semester?
A. Yes. Classes are held in the evening and weekends during these semesters. You canstart at the beginning of any semester.
Q. What are the academic requirements to get into the MAE program?
A. You must have at least a 2.5 GPA in the last 60 semester hours or submit passing scores on the GRE test.
