Masters in Occupational Therapy Path (MOT)
As a Psychology, Kinesiology–Applied Health, or Biology major, you can go on to achieve your master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. Programs that have earned national accreditation with the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) are recommended.
Required Courses
Most MOT programs require:
- Human Anatomy
- Human Physiology
- Introduction to Psychology
- Psychopathology
- Lifespan Development
- Statistics
- Cultural Anthropology or Introduction to Sociology
Recommended Courses
In addition, most institutions require scores from the GRE. Many will require some form of experience shadowing an OT or working as an assistant in a PT/OT setting. It pays to research programs you are interested in early in your college career, so that you can plan your summers around shadowing opportunities.
