Who qualifies as a First-Time Freshman?

If you’re graduating from high school this academic year or have completed 30 or fewer college semester units, you’ll apply to Simpson University as a first-time freshman. Whether you’re coming straight from high school or have taken a few college courses, we’re here to guide you through the admissions process and help you take the next step toward your academic and spiritual journey.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Step 1: Apply Online

Submit your FREE online application
For first-time users, hit the “Sign Up” link to create a username and password.
You can start today, save your work, and go back at any point to review your application and make changes before submitting.

Step 2: Send Transcripts

Submit official* secondary or high school transcripts.
Submit official* college transcripts from ALL previously attended colleges/universities.
Submit transcripts to transcripts@simpsonu.edu OR mail to:

*Transcripts are considered official when sent directly to Simpson University from your current high school or college. Final official high school transcripts must be submitted upon completion of your high school requirements and must include graduation date.

First-time Freshman

Qualification	GPA Requirement
Fully Qualified	2.7 Unweighted High School GPA & above
Director Review	2.3 – 2.69 Unweighted High School GPA
Committee Review	2.29 Unweighted High School GPA & below

First-time Freshman Pre-Nursing, Math, and Biology

Qualification	GPA Requirement
Fully Qualified	3.2 Unweighted High School GPA B (or better) in Algebra 2 (or higher)

Must submit an essay
Admissions Director approves/disapproves admittance

Academic Provisions:

Student will be enrolled in no more than 13 units in their first semester at Simpson
Must create a Student Success Plan with the Academic Success Center within 2 weeks of arriving on campus
Must meet with an Academic Advisor within 2 weeks of arriving on campus
Must achieve a minimum GPA of 2.0 by the end of their first semester of attendance
