Biography
Dr. Darren Gordon is the Associate Provost of Graduate Programs and the Dean of the School of Education at Simpson University. He has 9 years of administrative experience in higher education and 15 years of teaching experience, including linguistic fieldwork and teaching in the graduate linguistic program at Payap University in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Darren also spent 2 years teaching ESL at Candlelight Language School in Vientiane, Laos. A significant focus as both a professor and administrator has been inspiring students to be successful learners and fostering important partnerships for compelling community impact while developing new programs and increasing the value and effectiveness of existing programs.
Outside the classroom and office, Darren enjoys time with his wife, Erin (Simpson 1997, 2013), and family. He especially enjoys hiking, camping, running, and reading. Darren and his wife have four adult children.
