Biography
Dr. David Cwir serves as Associate Professor and Chair of the Psychology Department at Simpson University. As a social psychologist, Dr. Cwir’s research explores the factors that foster a sense of social connectedness with others, along with the resulting cognitive, emotional, and physiological outcomes. His scholarship has been published in leading journals, including the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology and the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. Before joining Simpson University, Dr. Cwir taught at various Christian institutions in Canada, including Briercrest College and Seminary, Booth University College, and Tyndale University. In addition to his academic career, he and his wife, Trisha, served as lead pastors at a church they planted in Ottawa, Canada. Dr. Cwir is passionate about the integration of Christian faith and psychological science, and he considers it a profound privilege to contribute to God’s work at Simpson University.
