
Biography
At Simpson University, Larry worked on the definition of the curriculum for the new engineering program and helped develop the engineering ABET assessment plan. At Chico he was Professor and Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He led curriculum development for under graduate and graduate programs in electrical and computer engineering. He taught both software and hardware design courses.
After retiring from Chico Dr. Wear accepted the position of Professor and Associate Director of the Institute of Technology at UW, Tacoma. He was responsible for developing a new undergraduate program in Computer Engineering, managing class schedules, and developing laboratories. He also taught several engineering courses.
Dr. Wear helped developed the assessment plans for all three schools and was the primary author of three ABET self-study documents. All three assessment visits resulted in 6-year (the maximum awarded) accreditation for the programs.
