
Biography
Shauna Montegna is a dedicated registered nurse with more than 30 years of experience serving patients and families across neonatal intensive care, critical care, emergency medicine, cardiac care, and hospice settings. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Point Loma Nazarene College and has spent the majority of her career at Dignity Health Mercy Medical Center in Redding, California, where she served as a Level III NICU nurse, team leader, educator, preceptor, and transport nurse.
Recognized as a Northern California Hometown Healthcare Hero, Shauna is passionate about mentoring future nurses and fostering excellence in clinical practice. Her expertise includes high-risk neonatal care, patient advocacy, interdisciplinary collaboration, simulation-based learning, and nursing education. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to compassionate, Christ-centered care that reflects her faith and dedication to serving others. Shauna is excited to help prepare the next generation of nurses at Simpson University.
