Music Department Fall Concert
Thursday, October 17 from 7:30 – 9:00 PM
Enjoy an unforgettable evening as we explore the essence of “home” through music. From pop hits by Phillip Phillips to the classical treasures of Brahms and the uplifting anthems of Dear Evan Hansen, each performance is a reminder of the spaces and moment that make us feel truly at home. You will be led on a journey-through-the-genres of classical, jazz, musical theatre, and pop music by talented students, local artists, and alumni. Whether it’s the comfort of familiar tunes or the thrill of new discoveries, come find your place in the music and reconnect with what home means to you.
Alumni Baseball Game, Tailgate, & Fireworks
Friday, October 18 from 5:30 – 9:00 PM
Connect with fellow alumni, faculty, and staff during the pre-game tailgate meal and as you watch our current baseball team play alumni. This family friendly event will have inflatables, face painting, popcorn, and snow cones. The evening will end with fireworks at 8:30 PM. Tickets for the meal can be purchased through the Homecoming Registration page for $12 or as part of the Homecoming Package.
Red Hawk 5k Run/Walk
Saturday, October 19 from 7:30 – 9:00 AM
Join alumni, current students, and the Redding community for the 4th annual Red Hawk 5K. The event will follow a flat course that begins and ends on campus. The 5K begins at 8:00 am, with registration and a light continental breakfast available before and after the event for all participants. Medals will be given to the fastest man/woman across 8 age groups. Registration is $20 and includes a race t-shirt.
Love Thy Neighbor Art Show
Saturday, October 19 from 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Celebrate the Christian call to love and serve all people, regardless of background, through powerful artworks depicting kindness, solidarity, and community service.
Open Lecture
Saturday, October 19 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Enjoy the knowledge and wit of Simpson professors with two open lectures. Starting at 10:00, Dr. Schaefer and Dr. Middlebrook will do a topic from the Old Testament. Then at 11:00 am Mr. Claspill and Dr. Orr will team teach a history lesson. These classes, held in Simpson’s Prayer Chapel are free, but we kindly ask that you register for planning purposes.
Alumni Legacy Luncheon
Saturday, October 19 from 12:00 – 1:30 PM
Visit with fellow alumni over lunch and take part in sharing memories of Simpson. During this event, we will honor Don Claspill, who is a Simpson alumnus (’60) and was the World Civilization professor for thousands of Simpson students during the decades he taught. Tickets for the meal can be purchased through the Homecoming Registration page for $12 or as part of the Homecoming Package.
Football Watch Party & Tailgate
Saturday, October 19 from 12:00 – 3:00 PM
Cheer on SU Football as they take on Montana Tech in a gridiron battle. Join current students, and alumni in our covered outdoor venue to view the livestream of this away game. Tickets for the tailgate lunch can be purchased through the Homecoming Registration page for $12 or as part of the Homecoming Package.
Alumni Awards Banquet
Saturday, October 19 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM
Celebrate the values that have made Simpson a gateway to world service for more than a century as we highlight the lives and impact of our graduates. After this meal, Simpson will honor Don Claspill (’60) as Lamplighter of the Year, Celine Bower (‘97) as Distinguished Alumna, Annalisa Hansen (’06) as Young Alumna, and Mike Littau (’00) with our Community Leader Award. Tickets for this meal can be purchased through the Homecoming Registration page for $35 or as part of the Homecoming Package.
Worship Service & Brunch
Sunday, October 20 from 9:00-10:30 AM
Join fellow alumni for a time of song, prayer, and the Word led by fellow alumni. The message will be given by Jessie Wolske (’99), Associate Pastor at Trinity Alliance Church here in Redding. This sacred time is followed by a Sunday morning brunch in our dining center. Tickets for the meal can be purchased through the Homecoming Registration page for $15 or as part of the Homecoming Package.
