Simpson University is proud to host the Far Northern California Regional Science Bowl, a fast-paced academic competition that brings together some of the brightest high school minds from across the region, testing their knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Who Qualifies for Far Northern California Regional Science Bowl?
Registrations are based on the location of your school. Teams from schools in Butte, Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, & Trinity Counties are eligible to compete at this regional.
What is the Science Bowl?
The National Science Bowl®, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, is one of the nation’s premier academic competitions for middle and high school students. Designed to inspire interest in science and mathematics, the Science Bowl challenges teams of students to compete in a fast-paced, quiz-style format that covers a wide range of topics — including biology, chemistry, Earth and space science, physics, energy, and math.
The competitive format encourages teamwork, critical thinking, and academic excellence, all while promoting a spirit of healthy competition.
Regional winners advance to the National Finals in Washington, D.C., where they compete with top teams from across the country.
For students, the Science Bowl is more than just a competition, it’s an opportunity to deepen their love for science, build lasting friendships, and envision future careers in STEM fields.
Coach Training & Support
