Welcome Weekend – the Beginning of your Simpson University Journey
Your community here on campus is preparing for your arrival. We want you to have an amazing weekend!
During the weekend, we will be here to help with every step as you transition into life here at Simpson. Your SU student leaders are here to serve. You will meet your admissions counselor, residence life and First-Year Experience and Transfer Connections Leaders. You will also meet your academic adviser, staff members, and professors who will walk with you on your journey throughout the academic year and beyond.
If you have not yet registered for Welcome Weekend and are an incoming student for the next academic semester, please be sure to register here. Any further questions, about welcome weekend, registration, or the upcoming semester, can be directed to your Admissions Counselor – or call Admissions (530) 226-4600.
Welcome Weekend is mandatory for ALL incoming students – first-time freshman and transferring students.
Preparing for Welcome Weekend
While many of the following can be completed before Welcome Weekend, we encourage you to get ahead and fill out the necessary forms beforehand. This way, you can enjoy Welcome Weekend to the fullest, meet new people, and experience the first few days of your collegiate future stress-free.
Pre-Registration Forms
These forms will need to be filled out before you register for classes. If you need help accessing this page or any part of the SU portal, please call the IT Department at (530)226-4940
Pay your Bill Online
You can see any outstanding payments and pay your bill online here. If you have any questions about your bill, you can call Student Accounts at (530)226-4777.
Register for Classes
Check your student portal for your course schedule under CSS Student Planning to prepare for your first semester. Contact your admissions counselor with any questions.
Office of Financial Aid
Though this isn’t mandatory, we highly recommend you set an appointment with the Financial Aid office to go over any questions or concerns about your award letter before Welcome Weekend.
Submit Your ID Photo
Submit your ID card photo ahead of time, so your ID card is ready for pick-up in the mailroom when you arrive. Be sure to follow the guidelines on our submission page.
Canvas
In SU’s learning system, Canvas, you will see all your courses and course content from your professors. Read our Canvas Guide for New Students to become familiar with this essential system before the start of the semester!
