Call for Proposals:
Wednesday, April 9th, 2025 will be Simpson University’s date for the 15th annual Student Research Symposium on our campus. The organizing committee invites students from the traditional undergraduate program, the adult degree-completion program, and graduate programs, to submit proposals for presentations at the event. This event is a special tradition for our university which celebrates academic excellence and strengthens student resumes.
Symposium Theme:
For all of Simpson’s students! The theme for our 15th symposium will be DIGITAL HUMAN. We live, work, and play in digital worlds with digital tools. Our digital devices seem indispensable for life in the modern world. And now advances in artificial intelligence have us asking timeless questions all over again: What is intelligence? What defines consciousness? Or humanity? Come explore the theme of “digital human” in each of your fields of study.
Present on the impact of digital communication on human relationships, or the ubiquitous presence of digital devices in health care and education systems, or the rise of digital monies like Bitcoin. We encourage you to contribute your voice to this important conversation. The world is constantly changing but our mission remains the same in this digital age: Simpson exists to equip students for their calling through Christ-led, transformational, and innovative education. Creatively consider the ways in which our theme can highlight the best our academic accomplishments have to offer. Start planning now to share with us next spring!
Submission Process:
The SRS ’25 committee welcomes presentations in four different formats: individual talk, panel discussion, poster/infographic, or performance/creative. Please see the symposium website for descriptions of each format as well as proposal instructions and deadlines. While priority will be given to projects that address in some way the concept of “Digital Human” into their research question, proposals on any topic will be granted full consideration!
