Applying for Scholarships

By completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you will automatically be considered for most scholarships. Merit scholarships based on academic achievement are considered only at the time of admittance to the university.

Legacy Scholarships

Simpson University offers six unique Legacy scholarships.

These scholarships may require an additional application and documentation. Legacy scholarships are not stackable with other aid offers. You will only be selected for one Legacy scholarship regardless of how many applications you submit. Currently enrolled students and graduate students are not eligible for the Legacy scholarships. Bethel Student Scholarship


Simpson University created the Bethel Student Scholarship to help make a four-year private education a reality for Bethel students committed to the expansion of God’s kingdom.

Educators Scholarship


Simpson University is dedicated to the mission of changing lives. This ideal has inspired Simpson University to create The Educators Scholarship to support the training and equipping of credentialed school teachers.

Imago Dei Scholarship


This scholarship is designed to make a four-year private Christian education a reality for students from outside the USA who display exemplary academic skill and express a desire to promote culture and equality.

Legacy Alliance Scholarship


The Legacy Alliance Scholarship is designed to support our Christian & Missionary Alliance (CM&A) church families in making a four-year private Christian education a reality while still serving the world for Christ.

In order to celebrate culture and promote unique cultural expressions, we created this scholarship to make a four-year private Christian education affordable for students who display exemplary academics and express a desire to promote culture and equality.

NorCal Promise Scholarship


Dedicated to helping families in Northern California, we created the NorCal Promise Scholarship to make a four-year private Christian education a reality for those living throughout Northern California.

Additional Scholarship Opportunities

Campus Visit

Traditional undergraduate students who attend one of Simpson University’s campus visit events prior to the start of the Fall 2020 semester will qualify for a $1,000 one-time scholarship. In order to qualify for the Campus Visit Scholarship, a student must register for one of the campus visit events online at simpsonu.edu/visit and must attend all segments of the event.

Talent Scholarships

Scholarship Amount Description
General Music Scholarship Award amounts will vary Awarded to exceptional musicians via recommendation from Music Chair/Department. Renewable at discretion of Music Department.
Ensemble Scholarship Up to $750/year ($375/term) Available to students who participate in a Simpson University ensemble group. Renewable with ongoing Ensemble participation.
Athletic Scholarship Award amounts will vary Each coach will determine the amount of institutional athletic aid awarded to team members. Renewable with ongoing athletic participation.

Ministry Scholarships

Scholarship Amount Description
Ministry/Christian Worker Dependent Scholarship Up to $2,000/year For students with parent(s) or spouse working as a full-time pastor or full-time Christian service worker.
Church Match Scholarship Match up to $3,000/year If the home church contributes annually, Simpson University will match up to $3,000/year. Student scholarships paid to Simpson University and received from church will be matched 1:1 (up to $3,000, $1,500/semester).

Private scholarship information may be obtained by researching professional, religious or community organizations. FinAid and The College Board's Scholarship Search websites provide scholarship search information. Fastweb.com is a great resource for finding scholarships to assist with paying for school.
