Multiple Subject Credential
A multiple subject credential authorizes the holder to teach all subject matter content in a self-contained setting, generally kindergarten through grade 8. Simpson University School of Education offers a traditional student-teaching or intern pathway to licensure.
All full-time multiple subject students can complete credential requirements in as little as 3 semesters with the student teaching pathway, or in 4 semesters with the intern pathway.

Requirements During Pathway
- Two semesters of coursework prior to clinical practice
- Student-teaching for 16 weeks (1 semester)
- Have met subject matter CSETs if applicable
- Meet U.S. Constitution requirement

Current Single Subject Credential holders may add the multi-subject credential by:
- Passing the CSET for multiple subject
- Passing the Foundations of Reading Exam
- Completing a 3 credit multiple subject curriculum course AND a 3 credit elementary language arts course
