The 24th Annual Business Leadership Luncheon is an opportunity for business professionals, community leaders, students, and aspiring leaders to connect, learn, and be inspired.
This year’s keynote speaker is Sean Parnell, attorney, educator, and former governor of Alaska. Sean Parnell served as Alaska’s 10th governor from 2009 to 2014, following service as lieutenant governor, state senator, and member of the Alaska House of Representatives. Before and after his public service, he practiced law for more than 25 years. Parnell holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pacific Lutheran University, a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies and Theology from Western Seminary, and a Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law. From 2021 to 2025, he served as Chancellor of the University of Alaska Anchorage, where he helped reverse a decade of enrollment decline and positioned the university for continued growth through initiatives focused on affordability, student success, workforce development, and community partnerships. In collaboration with the Ted Stevens Foundation, he also helped establish the Alaska Leaders Archive, a growing collection of leadership papers, records, photographs, and media serving as a unique research resource for students, faculty, and the public.
